To safely remove false eyelashes without damaging your own, gently soften the adhesive and peel them off carefully, avoiding any pulling or tugging.

Softening the glue

Always start by softening the lash glue to make removal easier and safer. Use an oil-based makeup remover or micellar water on a cotton pad, holding it against the lash line for 30 seconds to dissolve the adhesive.

Removing strip lashes

  1. Gently grasp the outer corner of the strip lash with your fingertips or tweezers.
  2. Slowly peel inward toward the inner corner, keeping the motion smooth and controlled.
  3. If resistance is felt, apply more remover and wait a few seconds before continuing.

Removing cluster lashes

  1. Use a cotton swab dipped in remover to gently loosen the glue under each cluster.
  2. Carefully lift each cluster from the outer edge inward.
  3. Avoid pulling directly on your natural lashes.

Cleaning off residue

After removing the lashes, clean any remaining glue from your eyelids and natural lashes:

  1. Soak a cotton pad with remover and gently wipe along the lash line.
  2. Use a cotton swab for precision cleaning.
  3. Rinse with water if needed and pat dry.

Why extensions are different

Professionally applied lash extensions require a technician for safe removal. Attempting to remove them yourself can damage your natural lashes. Always visit a certified professional for extension removal.

Step-by-step safe-removal routine

  1. Gather oil-based remover, cotton pads, cotton swabs, and tweezers.
  2. Soak a cotton pad and hold it against the lash line for 30 seconds.
  3. Peel strip lashes from outer to inner corner or lift cluster lashes gently.
  4. Clean off any remaining glue with a cotton pad or swab.
  5. Rinse and pat dry if needed.
